Job summary
Helps managing the discipline for safe, operable and economic designs ranging conceptual engineering, front-end engineering, detailed engineering, procurement engineering & close-out
Ensures the designs meet the quality and agreed project requirements
Performs as Senior Engineer/Area Engineer role to successfully complete engineering activities assigned for the project.

Key Responsibilities
2.1
- Management
Acts as Lead Engineer / Leave replacement to the Lead Engineer as appropriate
2.2
- Quality/HSE
Performs discipline check and Inter-discipline check of documents
Ensures that the required integrity and quality of the work is maintained
Familiar with the Quality/HSE Management system and their procedures
Ensures timely corrective actions for the identified non-conformities

- Project Execution
Prepares and updates Engineering plan for the assigned project
Prepares and adheres Document Control Index
Prepares detailed engineering documents, procurement engineering documents e.g. material requisitions, evaluate technical bids & reviews Vendor / third party documents
Executes the engineering & design works within budget and schedule
Co-ordinates with other disciplines & resolves the engineering issues.
Participates in multidisciplinary Tool Box Meeting (TBM) involving technical reviews and progress review of projects as needed. . Actively communicates with other disciplines to optimise areas of interface, during the design development, review and check processes
Ensures design packages meet the relevant safety, environmental & ergonomic standards and also company procedures and international standards & codes
Assists Discipline Head / LEs in preparing man-hour estimates. Monitors month-wise man hours
Maintains registers for scope changes
Supports preparation of Quantity monitoring reports for assigned project
Interacts with vendors for input data for engineering and other technical issues
Participates in the HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies, Design & Technical reviews and progress review of projects
Provides Field engineering support as required
Facilitates project close out
Provides inputs for capturing lessons learnt.

Visits Clients, attends seminars/ workshops and makes Technical presentations

Prepares the scope of work and seeks clarifications for ambiguous /
Incomplete / incorrect information

Provides input to the project execution planning and scheduling

Supports LE in identifying project specific engineering and design elements which requires sub-contracting

Job Requirements

Language:
Good command on spoken and written English

Education:
Master degree or Bachelors’ degree in related Engineering

8 years in Engineering

Key Competencies
(Functional)
knowledge of Instrumentation Engineering comprising relevant codes and standards for Sizing, selection of Control Systems, Special Instrument Systems, Field Instruments, and Instrument Bulks etc.
Shall be conversant with entire gamut of Instrumentation Engineering comprising Control Systems e.g. DCS/ESD/F&G/ Sub control system PLCs etc, Special Instruments like Analysers, Machine and temperature monitoring systems.
Shall have exposure in sizing and selection of Field Instruments consisting Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Level measuring sensors, transmitters and meters.
Shall have exposure in Control / Shutdown and Safety valve Sizing and selection.
Shall be conversant with Networked instruments over Foundation Field bus, Modbus, Profibus etc.
Shall be equipped with Hazardous area and OISD norms
Shall be equipped with design norms of Control Rooms and its equipment Layout, and field Layouts
Shall have thorough exposure in various sizing software and SPI Software
Good knowledge of organisation and system procedures
General knowledge of management techniques
