Electric Heaters are unlike traditional Heat Exchangers in that they heat a fluid using electrical energy rather than thermal energy. Consequently, there is no heat balance from one side to another as you would have with other heat exchanger types in sensible heat transfer applications. Industrial Electric Heaters have many applications in the Refining, Power, Pulp and Paper, Food, Gas Engine and Gas Compression Industries as well as many varied applications in general process industries.Many Electric Heaters in industrial applications such as; Flanged Heaters, Immersion Heaters, Circulation Heaters and Hot Oil Systems may not be designed, selected or manufactured specifically for the industrial application where they operate. Many Electric Heaters are of commercial grade which is not necessarily the grade of heater to be installed in a process that requires dependability and long life. Gaumer Process Heaters does not manufacture commercial grade heaters – their customers operate important processes that rely on the Industrial Electric heater to be; leak tight, properly sealed to prevent moisture inclusion and sized and designed appropriately for the process.
