The mill comprises of a steel rotor carrying four steel hammers hinged to it. This arrangement is housed in a cast iron chamber with a feed inlet and an outlet. A motor driven worm independently feeds the material into the mill. On the outlet side, a mesh is fixed so that finer material of desired size only can pass down. The coarser material is carried round and pounded further. The ground materials are collected in a cloth sack provided for this purpose. The maximum fineness possible is 250 mesh. Additional screens of 72 mesh and 100 mesh are also supplied along with the instrument. The mill has a hopper to feed the material. The feed size is 5 mm. It is wired for 440 V 50 Hz.
